The Continental Divide Morgan Horse Association membership area spans an area from Northern Wyoming to New Mexico to the south, east into Nebraska and west into Utah. The club was started in 1969 to help educate new Morgan horse owners abut the breed in areas including breeding, clinics, marketing, showing, youth programs and general activities available to Morgan owners. At meetings the club tries to have informative programs that further each owner's knowledge about Morgan horses and the horse world.

Throughout the year, club activities have included potluck suppers, trail rides, one day shows, driving events and youth gatherings.

One of the main focuses of the Association is a Class A Morgan Horse Show held over Labor Day weekend in Loveland , CO at the Larimer County Fairgrounds.

Every year the CDMHA publishes a membership directory. It lists all the members and their Morgan horses. The directory is made available to people interested in the breed and through it they can find horses for sale, breeders and trainers as well as related businesses.

Each year the CDMHA is instrumental in promoting Morgans at the National Western Stock Show, the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo and judging contests state wide.

What a great Stock Show we had in 2001, with over 600,000 people coming to the show and many stopping by our booth! We had several new people help us out and all seemed to like the job! Great thanks go out to: John Aranda, Judy Bodman, Jack and Jan Bloss, Anne Mears, Tony Lueck, Don and Lois Schmotzer, Ev and Theresa Munzel, Linnea Sidi, Kathy Taylor, Mai Wisdom, Rhonda Weber and Chuck Abfalter, Thom Harris, Jack Stewart and Cheryl Gehrig. That is a good thing since we will be needing to man the booth at the Horse Expo the end of March.

If you have never tried manning the booth somewhere you have missed a great experience. You meet people really interested in Morgan horses and they want to talk and ask questions! You may feel you don;t know enough but as you stand there you find you know more than you thought and there is always that popular answer to a question..."I don't know but I will get your question to someone that does".
